The «Wall of Zug» is transparent

13.12.2017

Next to the former old city wall near Grabenstrasse a new artwork carrying on the attributes of the former structure. Called the «Wall of Zug» by artist Rena Glienke, it is displayed in the gallery of Malte Frank. The laconic sculpture is concise and sturdy - rather delicate and transparent, contrary to its hefty weight of 600 kg. At night, the object is lit up from the inside to appear icy blue. (Translated)

Provoking Chance

19.06.2012

Exhibit:
Renate Glienke produces sculptures made to look like ice.
Ice floes, icebergs, bizarre formations, frozen in aquamarin blue. In the middle of the Aasee - in the middle of June. Sunday strollers, pedal boat peddlers, joggers and sailors probably could not trust what they saw. In the water around the stage in the lake stood 27 sculptures that appeared to be made out of ice. Like Frozen Water Whirls

06.03.2013

Sunday will turn out to be a cold day. Truly the appropriate condition for the installation “Ice on Ice” by Rena Glienke. Finely chiselled sculptures crafted from modern material displayed in winter on the swimming Aasee stage and illuminated at night. (Translated)
